Not better than I expected, but still nice. Next time I'm here, I'm ordering the pizza.

Olive oil decanter. First thing I noticed after we were seated.

Love the olive oil and balsamic at each table.

Chardonnay.

The view toward Yerrabi Pond.

Modern, inviting decor.

Pizza bread for starter.

Pumpkin risotto.

Pear, walnut, gorgonzola and rocket salad. This was a main size and it wasn't very filling. Still very tasty though.

Hot Pot, Gungahlin ACT

Hot Pot, Gungahlin

Food: 3/5
Atmosphere: 3/5
Service: 3/5

Standard menu is...well, standard food. I've had better Asian cuisine. However I can't wait to go back and try the Hot Pot ($30 per head).

I could tell that the sashimi salmon had been pre-carved and had been sitting on the serving plate for quite some time, hence the puddle of salmon juice. The wasabi was not hot at all.

Fish ball ramen soup. Not bad at all, although very basic.

Satay beef with steamed rice, spring roll and vegetables. Quite boring, however Camel Lashes liked it due to the fact that it wasn't sweet.

Absolutely fantastic view! Professional, prompt service. Pity about the live music - it was too loud.

Seafood pasta in white wine sauce.
The sauce was bland and tasteless. White wine? Hardly. The seafood however was top quality!

Grilled Tasmanian Salmon with greens. This was much tastier than the pasta.

Pier One Bar and Grill

Food: 4/5

This is one of my new faves in Merimbula. The food was great, and the view is spectacular! The staff were well trained, and because of this, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in the area. Our glasses were never dry and the atmosphere is modern and relaxing.

Offering one of my favourite champagnes on their drink list was a big hit in my books!

Garlic bread....a little oily, yet very tasty.

Ciabatta bread with Dukkah and olive oil.

This serving needed more Dukkah for the amount of bread served.

Chicken and cashew salad.

Sirloin steak served with salad and beer battered chips.

Asian-style calamari salad with aioli dressing - this was beautiful!

Sri Lankan Chicken Curry

A large array of condiments came with the curry.

My first Jamabalaya.....unfortunately had less flavour and was much blander than I was expecting.

Haloumi Salad - fried haloumi cheese on a salad of baby spinach,
cucumber, tomato, spanish onion, marinated olives and lemon $15.00

Although the salad itself was light, tasty and fresh - there was too much haloumi cheese for my liking. The natural saltiness, coupled with the olives, was too overpowering.
