I had recently noticed Thai Herb Restaurant upon browsing through the Urbanspoon website, yet had never noticed the actual restaurant having driven past it numerous times over the years. Thai Herb is located near the beautiful waterfront of Yerrabi Pond in Gungahlin, secluded beneath and below a row of suburban apartments. The restaurant boasts an excellent website, where you can book a table online, or order takeaway from a pictorial menu containing prices and good quality images of the majority of their dishes. Open at 5pm each afternoon, my friend and I were able to meet for a pre-drink before our 6pm dinner.

Cute table candles.

Thai Herb is situauted in a quiet area and I appreciated it's close locion to home. our ining experience was quiet, yet not to the point where we were having to lower our voices to have a conversation. The restaurant was very clean and modern, and I liked the fact that the plates matched the walls. This establishment is a good sized restaurant, with a cute outside dining area, gving it a homely aura.

The highlight of my night as the coconut juice - absolutely delicious and not too sweet. I could drink it everyday with every meal. All dishes had a perfect amount of spice and heat. I felt that the Deep Fried Tofu for entree needed a different type of sauce with it, maybe a satay would have been more approriate than serving it with the traditional spring roll dipping sauce. The Pad See Ew and Laksa noodles were perfectly cooked and all the meats were fresh and succulent. The Sticky Black Rice with Custard was the hit of the night, with it's warmth and tender sweetness.

The service was efficient and pleasant. The owner spoke with us whilst we were paying for our meal and asked us how our dinner was. This was a nice touch to the end of our night, and he told us that we are welcome any time. The service wasn't too rushed, which I appreciated as we had time to settle in, enjoy our drinks and chat between courses. I will certainly be back again a I was very happy with the overall dining experience, ambience and quality of food. Next time Ill be ordering the soft shell crab (with my coconut juice of course!)

  1. It's somewhat hard to look for a restaurant that offers superb dishes with excellent taste at a reasonable price. But in your case, you're lucky to find one. I mean, the way you described their food is absolutely mouth-watering. I would love to taste Kua Teaw Gang; it is a whole new kind of laksa for me. I bet its flavor is very delicate and mild based on the ingredients that were used.
